Copenhagen!
We had a great couple of nights there in December and did all the usual touristy things like The Tivoli Gardens, Little Mermaid and Hans Christian Anderson museum (please don’t bother with the last place, tacky in a bad way).
We also went to the Design Museum and that’s a great place, such beautiful and iconic Danish design.
The flight was with EasyJet and we stayed the night before at North Terminal Hampton by Hilton hotel which was comfortable and fine for purpose (expensive bar and breakfast not great)https://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/hotels/united-kingdom/hampton-by-hilton-london-gatwick-airport-LONGNHX
The flight there and back went very well – my plan worked and there were no delays or difficulties.
We stayed here https://guldsmedenhotels.com and managed to get a spacial rate. It really made our trip as it’s fantastic. A great mixture of high end facilities (pool, sauna, steam room) without a stuffy environment . The food was lovely and service charming. It’s not in the nicest of settings as on a busy road but it’s a short walk into the centre of the city.
We walked everywhere and Copenhagen is very accessible on foot and everyone is so helpful and English spoken widely.
